Having led Applied Risk since he founded the company in 2012, Jalal is responsible for Applied Risk’s industrial security services and product development. Jalal has led many complex ICS cyber security projects for major global clients, including some of the world’s largest industrial companies and utilities. As a global thought-leader on industrial control systems security and critical infrastructure protection, Jalal is an active member of several professional security societies and has co-authored ICS security best practice guidelines for ENISA and the ISA 99. He also frequently lectures to private and public audiences around the world.

Felipe Castro is a policy officer in the European Commission in the area of Energy Security and Safety, domain of cybersecurity. He worked 17 years in telecommunications in the private sector in Germany, France and Belgium. He is also affiliated professor in the Business School SKEMA in France. Felipe joined the European Commission in 2015, first in the Internal Audit Services and then the Directorate-General of Energy, dealing with technology and cybersecurity topics. He holds a master degree in telecommunication engineering from the University of Valladolid (Spain) and a second Master in Business Administration by the University UNED (Spain).

After a mechanical and civil engineering master degree from Arts et Métiers Engineering School, Laure Ducousso began her career in 2017 as a cybersecurity consultant for Wavestone, one of the European leaders in independent consulting firms, in Paris. She has realized a range of missions in cybersecurity for various clients in the public and private sectors, including some energy key actors, in France and at an international level. Now based in Wavestone’s Marseille Office, she combines innovate initiatives, pragmatism and insight to support her clients in order to consider cybersecurity in their digital transformation.

Dr Stephan Lechner, based in Luxembourg, is Director of Euratom Safeguards at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy. Mr Lechner also co-ordinates the policy activities for the European Commission on cybersecurity in the energy sector. Before this appointment to this position in July 2016, he was Director of the Institute for the Protection and the Security of the Citizen at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy, for more than 8 years. Before this responsibility he held various management positions in the hi-tech sector of private industries, at large international enterprises and at telecommunications operators. He managed international expert teams in Germany and in China and has more than 25 years of experience in collaborative European projects. He holds a degree in mathematics and computer sciences and a doctoral degree in cryptography.

Konstantinos MOULINOS

ENISA

Konstantinos Moulinos is an expert in the network and information security (NIS) area. He is the manager of ENISA’s energy security projects. He has worked for more than 10 years as an information systems auditor and for five years he contacted ENISA as an expert in the area of critical information infrastructure protection (CIIP) with a specialty in the energy sector cyber security. Also, he acts as a key contact point of ENISA with the NIS Directive Cooperation Group.

Rémy Garaude VERDIER

Rémy Garaude Verdier is a civil engineer and holds an MBA from IMD Lausanne. After working on several international construction projects for Vinci group, he joined the EDF Group in 2002 where he held various positions, notably in the group’s Finance Department (US & UK projects). In 2011, he joined Enedis to supervise the European Grid4EU project. This project, financed by the European Commission, is at this point, the largest existing Smart Grids project: it lays the foundations for the distribution network of tomorrow by testing the most innovative technologies in the field of the integration of renewable energies, electric vehicles or energy storage. Since 2016, Rémy has been managing Enedis’ European affairs, where he actively participates in the company’s commitment to innovative European projects and where he oversees the company’s representation to European institutions.

Rémy is a member of the Board of Directors of the EU DSO Entity since its creation in 2021.
